Šiauliai Air Traffic Control Centre employs 9 air traffic controllers.
The particularity of work at this centre is determined by Šiauliai joint-use civil/military aerodrome, in which civil and military aircraft (of the Lithuanian Air Force and the NATO air-policing aircraft) operate. After successful implementation of the automated air traffic control system AIRCON 2100, in the summer of 2014 the radar control for providing air traffic services was started in Šiauliai terminal control area.
The air traffic controllers of this centre face a serious challenge of learning special procedures for military air traffic control. Moreover, to many controllers the centre has become the first step in their career.
