Having won the competition for director general of SE Oro navigacija which had been announced by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Mindaugas Gustys took up the post of Director General of the enterprise on 1 December 2017.
On 29 November 2017 Transport Minister Rokas Masiulis signed an order appointing M. Gustys to head the enterprise for a five-year term of office. M. Gustys temporarily lead the enterprise from February of 2017, after Algimantas Raščius, the then director general who had been in office for many years, was dismissed.
In November the evaluation commission made up of representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Civil Aviation Administration and the independent member of the Board the SE Oro navigacija, recognised M. Gustys as the most suitable candidate for the post of director general.
M. Gustys has been employed in the enterprise since May of 2005. He started his career at the enterprise as a senior economist, and in June of 2012 he took up the post of Director Deputy for Finance and Economics. After Algimantas Raščius was dismissed in February of 2017, M. Gustys was appointed as Acting Director General of the enterprise.
36-year-old M. Gustys has obtained a master’s degree in economics at Vilnius University.
A competition for three independent Board members of Oro navigacija was announced at the beginning of November. They will be selected by the commission made up of representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Economy, and other state institutions.
In accordance with the Law on State and Municipal Enterprises of the Republic of Lithuania, one member of the Board shall be a representative of employees. A competition for an employee representative for the position of a member of the Board has been announced on the website of Oro navigacija. The winner will be selected by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, which will also delegate the fifth member to the Board.
