About SE „Oro navigacija“
SE “Oro navigacija” is the sole provider of the air traffic services, the communications, navigation and surveillance services and the aeronautical information services in the airspace of the Republic of Lithuania for the needs of civil aviation in peacetime. Also, the enterprise is involved in organization and coordination of search and rescue operations in the event of an aircraft accident or emergency.
Automated System for Flight Safety
The end of 2011 saw the implementation of a new automated system for flight procedure design at the enterprise. The system is fully automated and totally compliant with the requirements of ICAO documents. The innovation is expected to hinder potential errors related to human factor.
The system, developed by the Azerbaijan R.I.S.K. Company, was chosen as a result of bidding evaluation. In December representatives of the company provided specialists of the enterprise with corresponding training.
